DR BARBARA GROHMANN-IZAY
Barbara Grohmann-Izay, M.D., M.Sc., has studied medicine, psychology and biostatistics in Vienna, Austria, and expanded her knowledge with attending a postgraduate program of clinical research.
In over 12 years of experience in industrial drug development and academic research, she worked within multiple therapeutic areas like vaccines (prophylactic and therapeutic), transplantation, oncology, haemophilia, inflammatory and metabolic diseases.
During her professional career she integrated activities across multiple functions (medical and clinical affairs, clinical development, medical monitoring, clinical operations, pharmacovigilance, project management, data management, biostatistics, medical writing) for companies such as Wyeth (now Pfizer), Abbott, Hoffmann-La Roche, Croma-Pharma GmbH Austria, Hookipa Biotech AG. In her functional role as Medical Director at Baxter Bioscience (2010-2014) she was responsible for clinical studies Phase 1-4 in the field of Influenza (seasonal and pandemic), and Ross River Virus Disease.
